DescriptionThe Production Planner will be responsible for managing the production planning and forecasting processes in conjunction with the sales team and manufacturing. Additionally, he/she will be responsible for managing/balancing production plans, engineering change order implementation, and proactively resolving process bottlenecks. Lean and visual management practices will be employed to achieve the above objectives. The individual will also bring experience in a growth environment in regards to process definition and implementation.
Job Duties: Review documents such as production schedules, work orders, and staffing tables to determine personnel and materials requirements, and material priorities. Confer with department supervisors and other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes. Revise production schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions, collaborating with management, marketing, sales, production, and engineering. Confer with establishment personnel, vendors, and customers to coordinate production and shipping activities, and to resolve complaints or eliminate delays. Record production data, including volume produced, consumption of raw materials, and quality control measures. Calculate figures such as required amounts of labor and materials, manufacturing costs, and wages Distribute production schedules and work orders to departments. Compile information, such as production rates and progress, materials inventories, materials used, and customer information, so that status reports can be completed. Coordinate and/or lead ECO implementation with engineering and manufacturing. Skill Set & Qualifications: High school diploma/GED required. Relevant Bachelors degree strongly preferred. Significant experience in a High Tech manufacturing environment preferred. Strong process development skills and continuous improvement skills required. Experienced with implementation of Lean and Kanban systems/principals inside a manufacturing environment required. Intermediate to Advanced computer skills a must. Advanced skills in Excel a particular must. In depth knowledge and experience with Quickbooks strongly preferred. Familiarity with document control systems (Agile) and kanban software strongly preferred. Familiarity with CRMs required, with Saleforce.com preferred. Demonstrated strong communication skills. Logistics experience both nationally and internationally required.
