Our client is one of the largest wholesale manufacturer and distributor of fresh delivered foods in the United States. The company has multi-billion dollar revenues and operates manufacturing facilities and delivers its products through delivery routes across the USA.


THE POSITION
The primary purpose will be to increase sales and market share by implementing sales and trade marketing plans, training and motivating the team, and managing Key Performance Indicators for the market area.

PRINCIPAL ROLES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Position reports to a Business Unit General Manager and will provide daily supervision and direction for up to 12 District Sales Managers, and $30-50+ million dollars annual sales.
Manage Key Performance Indicators (net revenue management, safety, etc.).
Assist in attracting, recruiting, interviewing, selection, and training of new DSMs.
Train, motivate, coach, and mentor DSMs so that they can become promotable by producing superior results.
Develop and take ownership of customer relationships and establish customer services standards.
Enhance Business Unit performance through use of technology (hand-held computers, sales forecasting software programs, spreadsheet analysis, communicating to the sales force and to the customers, etc.).
Ensure implementation of Company sales and marketing strategies.
Communicate Safety initiatives to all employees.
Responsible for effective communication with all employees throughout organization to ensure the Business Units are aligned with the corporate strategy and direction.
Achieve budget, enhance merchandising standards throughout market, and promote strategy with customer.
Responsible for development of regional pricing management and decisions.
Develop regional promotional calendars.
Provide leadership and ownership for organizations success in Business Unit and for future change initiatives.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education and on-the-job management experience needed
BS degree is required; an MBA is a plus.
Minimum of 3 years experience supervising and managing 5 or more DSMs. Experience with a unionized workforce is a significant plus.
Five or more years of DSD (Direct Store Delivery) experience.
Regional Account Sales experience with consumer packaged goods is required.
Experience with perishable food products is a plus (products with a short shelf life).
Sales forecasting experience required.
