DescriptionVice President for Global Engineered products Manufacturing company.
The Vice President of Engineering direct and controls the design and development of rotating engineered products and related parts and accessories as well as coordinating all functional elements necessary to the maintenance of design, redesign and new designs.
This position exercises primary control over all Product Engineering, Research and Development, and product design support functions for the products.
Gensets , engineered Turbines, Diesel driven, HVAC, unitary products, chiller or other packaged turbo systems or Custom Refrigeration display systems.
Key Duties
Establish effective short and long range objectives, goals, and plans consistent with and in support of the companys Operating Plan.
Comply with company and corporate policies and instructions, and integrate the activity of the Engineering department with that of the other company organizational components.
Formulate and implement the departments annual operating budget, monitor performance and variance to budget and take action as appropriate to achieve plans.
Manage and direct the design and development of all air system products, related parts and accessories with the input of the marketing department on market needs and the manufacturing department on manufacturability.
Structure and staff the Engineering organization through appropriate personnel selection, training, and assignment. Through the proper delegation of responsibility and authority, provide a framework for personnel development and growth. Integrate individual objectives, goals and work plans with those of the Engineering function and of the company.
Develop through input of the company President, Vice Presidents of Operations for the Products, Vice President of Sales, and Vice President of Marketing, the priority of development projects.
Establish and maintain effective communication and employee morale within the Engineering function.
Determine and recommend changes in current and future products to improve quality, reduce costs, and optimize company profitability.
Actively participate in, and represent the company in, applicable product, industry, user, market and trade meetings and seminars. Take an active role in the development of product and industry standards.
Responsible for managing and implementing engineering systems and related software to improve the efficiency, timeliness and accuracy of engineering outputs.
Requirements:
Bachelors and Masters degrees in engineering
Professional Engineering certification requested
Strong Design of equipment of rotating products
Packaging design experience
Proficient use of Pro/ENGINEER
5-10 years engineering leadership experience
Strong project management skills
Familiarity with lean manufacturing philosophy
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
