DescriptionThe Senior Manager, Engineering for Controls & Electronics will lead the North America Region in new product design which includes building, leading and managing the staff to deploy electronic modules into products.
Daily/Weekly/Monthly Duties include: Work interactively with controls and electronics engineers and managers, product development engineers and managers, product laboratories, agency personnel, suppliers and others as necessary to achieve goals. Lead management activities to generate designs for controls, including creation of engineering drawings, generation of software, and fabrication of prototypes. Perform quality control and production support activities such as review of key work products, execution of required tests, supplier coordination activities and contribution of successful application in the assembly plant for both internal and external designs. Enhance competencies in crucial engineering areas that support Controls and Engineering cost, quality, time to market and innovation goals. Identify and lead the implementation of process improvement opportunities, both within the site and within the global organization. Maintain budgets and develop cost estimates for projects. Schedule resources including personnel and equipment to meet aggressive development schedules. Participate in design reviews, FMEA development, returned product analysis and other quality control processes. Work cross-functionally with quality, engineering, purchasing and other departments.
Requirements:
BSEE or other technical degree with significant electrical engineering exposure (MSE or equivalent preferred)
Minimum 10 - 15 years experience in an appropriate technology field; 5 years management experience including proven ability to develop a vision, implement strategy, and drive change.

Ability to managed a $10M Budget; over 50 in staff size; leadership of a mix of skills/abilities Highly effective in a strong-matrix organizational structure which emphasizes teaming across org chart boundaries Balance of real-time controls/embedded systems experience with electronics hardware development experience Knowledge of world-class design tools, development processes High volume product manufacturing experience recommended Consumer, automotive, factory automation, test instrumentation electronics experience
