Industrial Business Product Manager
Pleasanton, CA
In Pleasanton, CA, you will manage new products right through product life cycle starting at product concept through to product obsolescence in the areas of molecular biology. This includes identifying future products, addressing all pre-launch items, launch, on-market product support and product obsolescence.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Contributes to the development of the Global Marketing Plan for the Industrial Business.
- Key message development and communication of product positioning.
- Develop marketing tools and leads global marketing activities in support of the product.
- Coordinate customization requests / create business cases / ensure buy-in from stakeholders Identify competitor activities and develops action to address them.
- Provide support and guidance to the affiliate companies on product and market issues.
- Drive and coordinate branding development/evolution process.
- Drive and coordinate printing and distribution of publications supporting key messages.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of the global market for the product area.
- Monitor competitor activity and recommend action.
- Initiate appropriate market research to support objectives.
- Create and foster a strong team spirit and take on the role of ‘product champion’.
- Identify and clarify customer requirements for new products & product improvements.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Molecular Science, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work related experience required; Master's degree preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years commercial experience in product marketing, life science/molecular diagnostics reagents, supply chain/reagent manufacturing experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience of translating science, technology and customer business considerations into marketing messages & product positioning.
- Experience managing branding, advertising and/or PR/Communication agencies.
- Knowledge of the budgeting and forecasting process desirable.
- Demonstrated achievement of sales and marketing goals.
- Knowledge and experience of market analysis desirable.
- Understanding of the sales/marketing relationship.
- Understanding of the product development process is a plus; product launch experience preferred.
- Results and goals oriented.
- Ability to thrive and flourish in a fast-paced, dynamic, and global environment.
- Excellent cross-functional team leadership and participation skills.
- Highly organized and efficient.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills as well as the ability to present information to a wide range of groups / entities.
